The following information is in not complete. I have excerpted only the parts from the Honda 2000 Warranty Information booklet that are interesting because they illustrate Honda's exceptional commitment to the support and satisfaction of Insight owners. Although most parts receive the standard 3 year/36,000 mile Honda warranty, many (but not all) of the most exotic parts are warranted for 8 years/80,000 miles (whichever comes first, naturally). Pages 21 through 29 describe more extensive California warranties, but I don't live in California and I'm too lazy to read that section, much less type it in.

New Vehicle Limited Warranty

Time and Mileage Period (page 13)

This warranty begins on the date the vehicle is put into use in one of the following ways:

• The vehicle is delivered to the first purchaser by a Honda dealer
• The vehicle is leased.
• The vehicle is used as a demonstrator or company vehicle.

Your vehicle is covered for 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first.

Federal Emissions Warranties

Exhaust System (parts that are warranted for 8/80 on page 19)

• Three-way catalytic converter.
• Warm-up three way catalytic converter.
• Lean NOx catalytic converter.

Fuel Injection System (parts that are warranted for 8/80 on page 19)

• Engine Control Module (ECM).
• Powertrain control module.

Transmission Control System (parts that are warranted for 8/80 on page 20)

• Transmission control module.

Integrated Motor Assist System (parts that are warranted for 8/80 on page 20)

• Motor power inverter module.
• Motor driver module.
• Battery assembly.
• Motor control module.
• Battery condition monitor module.

Integrated Motor Assist System (parts that are warranted for 3/36 on page 20)

• Motor stator.
• Motor rotor.
• Motor commutation sensor.
• Motor current sensor.
• Battery module fan.
• High voltage contactor control relay.
• Motor power inverter module fan control resistor.
• High speed motor power inverter module fan control relay.
• Low speed motor power inverter module fan control relay.
