Honda Insight Rear Suspension
The Insight's rear suspension consists of twin trailing links interconnected
by a twist-beam stabilizer bar. Additional features of this design include:
- Fuel tank and spare-tire compartment that sit entirely below the cargo
area floor
- Telescopic shock absorbers are mounted in a separate location, which
contributes to the Insight's low, flat cargo floor
- Large rubber bushings built into the trailing-arm pivots provide bump
compliance, as well as enhanced stability via toe control when cornering
- Suspension links are designed to help absorb rear-impact energy
